For the life and work of Gustav Klimt (July 14, 1862—February 6, 1918), he was born in Baumgarten, near Vienna. There were three boys and four girls in his family and he was the second child. His mother had an unrealized ambition to be a musical performer, his father was a gold engraver, and all three of their sons displayed artistic talent early on. He was an Australian painter and one of the most prominet members of the Vienna Secession movement, was also so-callled culture representative of Vienna. More about the life and work of Gustav Klimt, in 1877 he won a scholarship to attend the Vienna School of Art and Crafts (Kunstgewerbeschule) , where he studied architechtural paintings until 1883. He admired a foremost history painter of the time, Hans Makart. He readily accepted the principles of a conservative painting, his early work could be classified as academic. In 1877, his brother, Ernst, who would like to become an engrae like his father, also enrolled in the same school. Then they began to work together with their friend, Franz Matsch, and by 1880, they had received numerous commissions and helped their teachers in painting murals in the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna as a team that they called the “Company of Artists. ”Klimt began his professional career painting interior murals and ceilings in large public buildings, including a successful series of “Allegories and Emblems”. And in 1880, he received the Golden Order of Merit from the Emperor for his contributions to murals painted in the Burgtheater in Vienne. He also became an honorary menber of the Uniersity of Munich and the Uniersity of Vienna.
